Experience the splendour and style of Salzburg as you spend the day exploring a city rich in history and culture. Set in stunning valley nestling high in the Alps, the city of the music is sure to captivate your imagination and transport you to the halcyon days of the Habsburg empire.

Salzburg is famous throughout the world for being the setting of the Oscar-winning musical, The Sound of Music, though its musical claim to fame goes further back as it was the birthplace of classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. On arrival, visit the majestic Mirabell Palace, which boasts stunning, awe-inspiring gardens that cascade across the sprawling grounds. Admire the lovely stone statues in the yards and the ornate carvings within the palace.

Continue on to the birthplace and residence of Mozart, a treasure in its own right. As you make your way through the elaborate halls, imagine a time when the youngster played here and view items and objects from his career.

Pay a visit to the imposing Hohensalzburg Fortress and enjoy stunning views over the city and valley below before heading over to the picturesque lakes region and Salzkammergut. Enjoy the rolling hills and natural beauty, before taking a leisurely boat ride (not included) on Lake Wolfgangsee to the quaint village of St Wolfgang.
