The Picasso Museum contains more than 3,500 works by the great artist, revealing his deep relationship with the city of Barcelona. The MACBA (Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art) houses an important collection of contemporary art, including over 5,000 artworks from the last 50 years in the permanent collection and an eclectic programme of temporary exhibitions and activities.


The MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) is located in a splendid location overlooking the Plaça de Espanya and houses magnificent collections of Romanesque church paintings and Catalan art and design from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Joan Miró Foundation is a showcase for the work of the great artist alongside a wide variety of works by other artists, housed in a magnificent building in Montjuic Park.


The CCCB (Barcelona Centre for Contemporary Culture) is renowned for its cutting edge take on the city and urban culture. The Antoni Tàpies Foundation houses a collection of paintings and sculptures by the great artist in a Modernist building in the Eixample district.
