Program details

Forget about the mundane hustle and bustle of day to day life in the big cities. Visit El Rocio, a little Andalusian town of singular beauty right in the midst of the vast Donana Natural Park. Discover the charm and quaintness of rural Spanish life with a breath-taking backdrop of natural splendour. Here, the cosmopolitan buzz of busy streets, stress and technology seems to dissolve into a faraway memory.

Begin you excursion with a tour through a wild trail leading to the stunning blue Rocina lagoon, an archetype of Andalusian wildlife radiance. Along the way, visit the imposing Acebron Palace, a magnificent mansion dating from the late 20th century. It is erected, literally, in the middle of nowhere, like a hidden wonder or a secret beauty. Although once inhabited, it can now be explored thanks to its visitor’s centre.

Continue then towards the tiny town centre, specifically the Acebuche Square. From there, depart to explore the stunning intricacies of the little town of El Rocio. Its labyrinthine streets offer manifold surprises, from picturesque shops to delightful traditional restaurants where you can gorge on local tapas and beer. You might also want to head to what locals call the Ermita (“hermitage”). Inside this splendid construction you can hear mass or simply admire its sky-reaching architecture. If architecture and religion isn’t your cup of tea, simply lose yourself in the alleys and shop to your hearts content. El Rocio might be small, but it has room for everyone.
