Program details

From our meeting point in Copacabana the tour departs to Flamengo´s Park, the biggest leisure complex in the city that was built after successive landfills at the Guanabara Bay. The park extends from the Santos Dumont Airport, in downtown, until the beginning of Botafogo´s Beach, in the South Zone, and has a total area of 1 200 000 square meters. We will ride the bike path inside the park and we´ll have many attractions on the way like the Museum of Modern Art, the Monument of II World War´s Dead, the Gloria´s Marina, the Monument to Estácio de Sá, and two beaches (Flamengo and Glória). The Park was landscaped by Roberto Burle Marx, famous Brazilian landscape architect and has as its main characteristic the diversity of its flora, which also attract many birds. Leaving the park, we keep riding a bike path to the Vermelha (Red) Beach, located in the neighborhood of Urca, that´s a small beach, highly appreciated by the surrounding landscape, between the hill of Urca and the hill of Babilônia (Babylon).

The beach is the starting point to take the worldwide famous Sugar Loaf´s cable car. After that we will cross the Túnel Velho (Old Tunnel) to reach Copacabana beach.
