Program details
At around 18:00hs we pick you up at your hotel, from where we have a half hour drive to Llanos del Castor, our winter center. The excursion consists of 3 outside activities, all guided by experienced staff.
First we take you for a walk with snowshoeing over a frozen peat bog. The snowshoeing comes in very handy when there’s a lot of snow, it provides you from sinking away in it. The guide will provide you with flashlights and will tell you all about your surroundings and about the beaver, an introduced animal in Tierra del Fuego.
Then you go for a ride on one of our snowmobiles. You will follow the guide on a beautiful circuit trough the snowy forest. If you’ve never ridden them before, don’t worry! The guide will instruct you on how to handle them. The snowmobiles are tandem, but half way along the track you’ll get the chance to switch, so everyone gets to drive!
Last but certainly not least, our well trained sled-dogs, guided by their ‘musher’, will take you on a sleigh ride. Sled through the silent, snowy woods and appreciate the patagonian winter in the best way possible!
Meeting/pick-up point: Pick-up at hotels in downtown Ushuaia.
Duration: Four hours.
Start/opening time: Every day of the week from June 1st to September 30th at 6pm.
Languages: Spanish and English.
Others: To drive the bikes a minimum age of 18 is required.
