Take a step back into the Stone Age in this full-day adventure to Fun Fun cave. Explore the magnificent network of underground tunnels, gigantic corridors, ancient cave paintings with the magical trickling sounds produced by the cave’s underground rivers in the background.

The adventure starts when you are picked up from your hotel. We’ll drive through the lush Dominican countryside, past fields of sugar cane and plantations of tropical fruit, heading for the beautiful nature reserve of Los Haitises. From here we’ll walk through the reserve, heading for the mouth of Fun Fun cave. As you walk your knowledgeable local guide will tell you all about the fascinating natural history of this beautiful area.

Once we have arrived at the cave your guide will help you to abseil 20 metres down the cliff to the entrance of the cave. We’ll spend most of the day exploring this massive cavern. Discover the mysterious indigenous West Indian rock art and marvel at the impressive stalactites and stalagmites and weird lava.

We’ll follow the course of an underground river until it finally emerges into the light in an area strewn with massive boulders and lush vegetation. Here you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the river (remember to bring your swimming costume) and then enjoy a delicious lunch Dominican style before starting the trek back to the hotel.
