Program details

Pay a visit to Canada's most majestic castle, Casa Loma, dominating the Toronto skyline from its vantage point on the brow of a hill overlooking the city. This 98-room neo-Gothic Edwardian landmark is a tribute to the best in European elegance and splendour. Once home to the Canadian financier, industrialist and military officer Sir Henry Mill Pellatt, the castle is now open for visitors to explore the corridors and discover the many wonderful treasures hidden inside.

Casa Loma is packed with unique architectural features and lavish, high-ceilinged rooms full of ornate woodcarving, sumptuous marble and luminous stained glass. Explore secret passages, view the city from one of the two Towers, and traverse a 245-metre tunnel to discover the stables, where even the horses lived in luxury mahogany stalls paved with Spanish tiles.

Two hectares of stunning estate gardens surround the castle and offer sparkling fountains, unique sculpture and dazzling displays of rare annuals and perennials that change with the seasons. Enter the Secret Garden, tucked away behind a cedar hedge, where time stands still and honeybees pollinate the beautiful roses. A visit to Casa Loma is unmissable for history buffs, garden fanatics or anyone who enjoys the finer things in life.
