The medina of Tetouan, heritage , is a jewel of Muslim culture, with winding streets, beautiful squares , brown walls, alleys and narrow long spell of corners and large doors that attract curiosity. The Medina is to see it, walk through it, exploring its nooks, contemplate their lattices, hear the sound of footsteps on the pavement, stopping to enjoy the smells of spices, bread and pastries fresh from the oven, in order wander through its streets watching their varied environment.


The current Jewish quarter dating from the early nineteenth century. The earlier that existed for centuries and where Jews expelled from Spain arrived settled, was ordained down by Sultan Moulay Soliman to prevent the Jewish population was found near the mosque called Jemaah the K'abira.
