Program details

Spend a wonderful day visiting the zoo and botanical garden of Jerez, a singular place of recreation and relaxation.

This interesting zoo, located in the centre of the city of Jerez, is one of the town’s most pleasant parks and an ideal place for children, who are certain to be captivated by the 1,000+ animals belonging to approximately two hundred species originating from all over the world, including tigers, elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras and lions.

Feed the elephants with peanuts from the local shop and enjoy a great occasion for some fun family photos.

The zoo’s history began in the early 1950s when it was mainly dedicated to the fauna of the Iberian Peninsula and of the Spanish Guinea, but over the years it has expanded and enriched its collection. Today, the zoo is especially valued for its reproduction and conservation projects, such as its program for the preservation of the Iberian lynx, an endangered species, as well as other educational and research tasks. The Jerez Zoo and Botanical Garden has a picnic area where you can enjoy a picnic or food purchased at the bar-restaurant. There is also a zoo-train from which you can view all the main attractions from the comfort of your seat .

Loved by small and big children as well as adults, this really is a fun day out for all the family.

Opening hours: October to April from 10am to 6pm, and May to September from 10am to 7pm.
