Program details

Spend two days discovering and learning about two of Poland’s most well-known places – Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine.

* Visit Auschwitz and learn about the history of the camp

* Descend underground into a salt city complete with lakes, shrines and art

* Two day combination package

On day one we visit one of the best known concentration camps in the world; a place where approximately 1.5 million people perished during WWII. The camp has remained a living monument, now a museum combining the area of KL Auschwitz (Auschwitz I) in Oświęcim and the Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II) in Brzezinka. Walk through the gate bearing the fallacious description ‘Arbeit macht frei’ (‘Work sets one free’) as prisoners did over half a century ago, and learn about the origins of the camp, its history and the everyday life of the prisoners.

On day two we visit one of the most previous and fascinating monuments of culture in Poland – the salt city! This underground labyrinth stretches over nine levels at 64 to 327 metres below the surface of the Earth. You’ll be led through a number of chambers housing sacred art and themed exhibitions relating to the mine, as well as underground lakes, shrines and salt monuments.
