Program details

Unleash your adventurous spirit as you feel the breeze in your hair using pedal power to cycle your way around Rottnest Island or combine both bike and snorkel for an unforgettable land and sea experience. Don't waste valuable time waiting in queue, book a bike before you go! ide straight from the jetty for breathtaking views, secluded bays and beaches.

Rottnest Island is 18km off the Western Australian coast, being 11km long and 4.5km wide. About a century ago, the island was declared an A-Class Reserve and it has been a popular local holiday destination for over 50 years now. Rottnest was settled by Aboriginal people until about 7,000 years ago, when sea levels rose separating the island from the mainland: Aboriginal people did not have boats that could make the crossing. Aboriginal artefacts on the island date from 6,500 to 30,000 years ago, however evidence suggests human presence possibly as early as 70,000 years ago.

Snorkelling is a popular activity at Rottnest because of the varied limestone terrain of its reef and the abundance of fish. Crayfish Western rock lobster is the most popular target during the summer season that opens on 15 November and goes until 30 June each year. At Parker Point you will find a snorkel trail with submarine interpretative plaques providing info about the oceanic habitat around Rottnest. Coral grows all around the island.
