Follow a trail from Munich’s humble origins around a salt route bridge on the River Isar to its rise as one of the wealthiest cities in Europe. The four-hour tour will be led by a native English-speaking guide with an insider’s knowledge of the city, taking you to all the main landmarks and a few the locals’ favourites. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like!



Start at Karlplatz and follow the route to the monumental Königsplatz, where the Glyptothek and antique museum are located. See the nearby Pinakotheken and head to the Maximilianeum and see the Bavarian parliament. Experience the ‘real’ Munich at the Viktualienmarkt, the city’s most popular market. Pass the Victory Gate and pay homage to the heroes of the anti-Nazi resistance at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, where the White Rose movement members studied. Behold the historic Bavarian Chancellery on a tour of the royal avenues and squares that takes in the Hofgarten, Max-Joseph-Platz and Odeonsplatz.
