HIGHLIGHTS:

* Explore some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the world

* Visit five villages by train and boat

* Have a fresh fish lunch overlooking the bay of Monterosso

Discover Cinque Terre by boat and train. Visit the village of Manarola, a tiny urban jewel full of typical Genoese style ‘case-torri’, and Vernazza, overlooked by the remains of a castle and an 11th century medieval cylindrical tower. We continue to Riomaggiore, a 13th century village known for its wine. Walk along its characterful paths admiring its pastel coloured buildings reflecting in the sea.

Next we head to the village of Corniglia, the only village of Cinque Terre not in contact with the sea, rising dramatically on top of a cliff. Visit the village of Monterosso, known as the “pearl of the Cinque Terre”, an ancient fishing village that is sure to catch your attention with its beautiful beaches and rich vegetation.

In a traditional restaurant overlooking the bay, you’ll be served a delicious three-course fresh fish lunch. Enjoy a tasting of the local limoncino in the centre before making the most of some free time for swimming or simply wandering the picturesque streets.

Meeting/ pick-up point: Piazza Gramsci in front of “La Lizza Cafè” at 6:30am.
