Program details

Explore the wonders of Árrabida Natural Park and the surrounding areas with a full-day excursion into this region of fascinating landscapes. Located in the south of Portugal, set out to tour some truly remarkable natural scenery and charming seaside fishing villages.

Get an early start to the day, and cross the Tagus River to make your way to the Árrabida Natural Park. A wondrous expanse of green, opening up to the Atlantic Ocean, gaze at the breathtaking views and Mediterranean charm as you continue on to Cape Espichel and the Albufeira Lagoon. The rugged rocky cliff of the cape is impressive in its stature, and the lagoon is truly a sight to behold. An idyllic paradise, the lagoon's waters twist and turn like a snake along the white sands of the shore. Stop to behold these marvels of nature, enjoy the old churches and castles along the way, and take a photo opportunity in these beautiful surroundings. Drive to the quaint fishing village of Sesimbra, then onto Setúbal and Palmela. Enjoy the colourful fishing boats along the water's edge and the labyrinthine streets dating to the medieval era. Once in Azeitão, get a taste of some of the local cuisine by indulging in a sweet torta and a traditional cheese tasting paired with local muscat. After a full day, enjoy the views again on your return.

The Árrabida Natural Park will show you the finest of nature's bounty as you explore the culture and history of this pristine coastal region of Portugal.
