Program details

Journey south from Boston and back in time from the 21st century to Plimoth Plantation, where you’ll discover the world of the pilgrims who arrived on these strange shores in the 1600s. In a hands-on, fully immersive experience ideal for the whole family, you’ll get to experience what life was like for these brave and hardy explorers, who left their homes, families and countries in the old world to seek out their fortune in an unknown land: America.

Plimoth Plantation is a living museum that shows the original settlement of the Plymouth Colony, an English colonial venture of the 1600s that played an important role in the founding of many modern American traditions, including the festival known as Thanksgiving. Get into character and accompany the pilgrims as they go about their daily tasks and tell you what it was like to come to this foreign place and build their future. Then visit the Craft Center where skilled artisans recreate 17th century pottery, baskets, books and furniture.

Board the Mayflower II, a replica of the original vessel that transported English Puritans and separatists to the New World on their quest to escape persecution and practise their religion freely. Imagine the hopes, dreams and fears of the passengers, tossed on the great waves of the Atlantic on their epic journey into the unknown. Additional time is provided to visit some of the other historical sites of Plymouth Harbor such as Plymouth Rock, Cole’s Hill and Brewster Gardens. Discover the spirit, courage and ingenuity of the first European settlers on the Plimoth Plantation trip from Boston.
