Program details

Discover the best of old and new Boston with a journey into the historic countryside towns of Cambridge, Lexington and Concord, followed by a guided tour of modern day Boston. From the earliest days of the American Revolutionary War through to its current role as a world-leading city in education and research, Boston has an interesting and eclectic history that’s well worth exploring further.

Depart from Boston and travel past the prestigious universities of Harvard and MIT, located just across the river in Cambridge. View Cambridge Common, where Washington took command of the Continental Army. Travel through the historic countryside of Belmont and Lexington, and follow the route of Paul Revere, whose bravery earned him the status of a hero in the early days of the war. Visit Lexington Green, where Captain Jonathan Parker and 77 minutemen stood their ground against 700 of England’s finest regulars in the very first battle. In Concord, journey past the homes of the famous writers Hawthorne, Alcott and Emerson, and visit the old North Bridge.

Then return to Boston and stop at the historic and popular Faneuil Hall and Quincy Marketplace to enjoy about 90 minutes for lunch and shopping on your own. Next, take a fully narrated overview of Boston, including a stop at the Charlestown Navy Yard to view the U.S.S. Constitution, one of the oldest Navy vessels in the world. The total Boston experience tour is an unmissable chance to learn more about the history of this revolutionary land and the people who made it so great.
