Program details

Experience the breathtaking multi-coloured splendour of New England’s foliage, offering a superb accent to the beautiful landscape of the Cape with this stunning autumn on the Cape excursion. As summer’s warmth lingers into the mellow autumn weather, the woodlands of New England become a explosion of colour, drawing visitors from all over the world to explore this gold, crimson and umber wonderland.

Cross the Cape Cod Canal, the artificial waterway cut through the peninsula that opened in 1914, connecting Cape Cod Bay to Buzzard’s Bay. Head to the affluent village of Hyannis Port, now well known for its yachts, but once famous as the holiday home of President John F. Kennedy. Visit the memorial constructed in his memory, and then join a lectured sightseeing harbour cruise, which offers the best possible view of the property where Kennedy spent many happy summers from when he was a boy, through his successful campaign of 1960 up until his assassination in 1963. The property is particularly beautiful in autumn, surrounded by a spectacular display of turning leaves.

Enjoy some free time to sample the best Cape Cod seafood for lunch at The Lobster Boat Restaurant, where you will find everything from lobster chowder to steamed clams, pan-fried scallops and fresh fish. Then enter the Sandwich Glass Museum which exhibits nearly 5,000 pieces produced at the Boston and Sandwich Glass company between 1825 and 1888, painting a picture of the importance of this small town at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.
