Day 01 - Airport |Colombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka!
On your arrival, you will meet and transfer to your hotel in Colombo for check-in. (Approximately 45 minutes’ drive)
Colombo is located on the west coast of the island and adjacent to Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, the capital of Sri Lanka. Colombo is often referred to as the capital of the country, since Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte is a satellite city of Colombo. Colombo is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and colonial buildings and ruins and the population of about 752,993 in the city limits. It was formerly the political capital of Sri Lanka, before Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte. Due to its large harbour and its strategic position along the East-West sea trade routes, Colombo was known to ancient traders 2,000 years ago.

Day 02 - Colombo | Sigiriya
After breakfast leave for Sigiriya. (Approximately 4 ½ hours’ drive). On your arrival do a village tour with lunch.
Village Tour: Make a visit to a village in Sri Lanka. Make a cart ride through the village, rice fields. Later make a short walk (a about 15 minutes) to the tank, to make a boat ride of about 20 minutes to a nearby vegetable field of the village. Enjoy cookery demonstration at local village house.
Thereafter, proceed to hotel and check in at the hotel.

Day 03 - Sigiriya
After breakfast leave to climb Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress. (at around 8.30 am – best time to avoid mid-day height)
Sigiriya: The marvellous rock fortress of Sigiriya is a rare jewel among the many treasures in Sri Lanka. The site was the domain of King Kashyapa whose aim was to build an impregnable fortress and within it, a heavenly abode. Rising over the dry plains of the Dambulla district, the tough climb up this flat-topped monadnock ends with the most scenic bird’s-eye view of the emerald plains and leafy villages below. The skeletal layout of the ancient city within the fortress marvels its observers with the grandeur and complexity of 5th century urban-planning of Sri Lanka. On the way to the top one can observe the famous Sigiriya frescoes of the buxom, wasp-waisted maidens bearing flowers, amidst the wilderness and ancient ruins. The smoothly glazed ‘Mirror Wall’ located a few steps away has sealed the expressions of ancient visitors, inspired by the vibrant frescoes.
In the evening game drive in Minneriya National Park.
Minneriya National Park: Minneriya, located in the backwoods of the North Central Province is home to the famous Minneriya National Park that shelters some of the greatest wildlife treasures of this paradise isle. The park, nourished by an ancient man-made tank provides shelter for troupes of toque monkeys, sambar deer as well as leopards, elephants and bird-flocks including little cormorants and painted storks to name a few. It is also renowned for the ‘Sixth Greatest Wildlife Spectacle of the World’ – the amazing phenomenon of the ‘Minneriya Elephant gathering’. The best time to visit the park is during June – September as the low water levels of the tank exposes grass in the tank-bed, which attracts herds of grazing animals.
Thereafter, return to hotel and relax.

Day 04 - Sigiriya | Kandy
After breakfast leave for Kandy. (Approximately 2 ½ hours’ drive) En-route visit Dambulla Cave Temple and Spice Garden in Matale.
Dambulla Cave Temple: Dambulla became a popular place of residence of Buddhist monks at least from the reign of this king. Vattagamani Abhaya is one of the few kings of ancient Sri Lanka whose name and fame are not dependent on the written records. To him are credited by the common people of the country tile numerous caves with drip-ledges which were abodes of Buddhist monks in ancient days. As we have seen, one or two of these caves like Dambulla do, in fact, bear inscriptions with the royal name which is attributed to him.
Spice Garden: Since time immemorial, this emerald isle has remained popular for its exotic spices, world over. To those who bear an interest in these rich elements that stirred the interests of many nations, the spice gardens located in Kandy, Matale and Mawanella offer wonderful opportunities to view these spices up-close. The gardens are not only delightful spots for a stroll midst the fragrant greenery but also offer interesting perspectives into the local spices, as the visitors are educated on the diverse variety of spices available in the country as well as on how they are grown and processed.

Day 05 - Kandy| Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. En-route do Kandy city tour and pay a visit to Temple of Tooth Relic.
Temple of Tooth Relic: Often referred to as the hill capital of Sri Lanka, Kandy offers a diverse variety of experiences to its visitors ranging from history, culture and simple scenic beauty coupled with a touch of urbanity. It was the last Sinhalese Kingdom that fell under British rule in 1815. The journey to this mellow weathered city can be quite enjoyable, particularly by train owing to the scenic delights that lie alongside. The city’s colonial architecture has been preserved well even in the backdrop of rapid urbanization. Close to the city’s centre is the prime landmark - Sri Dalada Maligawa that houses the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Apart from the ancient monuments of the Kandyan era, the delightful jumble of antique shops and the bustling market in the city also make up for interesting places of visit.
Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.
Thereafter, proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Arrive and check in at the hotel and relax.

Day 06 - Nuawara Eliya | Beruwala
After breakfast leave for Beruwala. (Approximately 5 ½ hours’ drive) En-route do Nuwara Eliya city tour and visit Tea plantation factory.
Nuwara Eliya: Dubbed the ‘Little England of Sri Lanka’, Nuwaraeliya is located in the thick, misty hills of this paradise isle, 180 km away from Colombo. The summer resort of Sri Lanka, it is one of the few areas where the colonial atmosphere is preserved, still resembling a British countryside complete with rose gardens, hedges and red-roofed bungalows. Although the town-centre has receded from its old-world charm, the lush tea-plantations, the racecourse, the English country house–styled Hill Club and the beautifully kept golf course instantaneously rushes its visitors back to the colonial times.
Tea Factory or Tea Processing Centre. There are hundreds of Tea factories in the Central Highlands, the Uva region and in the Southern parts of Sri Lanka. Some of these factories are situated in breathtakingly beautiful landscape, surrounded by indeed serene green gardens of tea. A casual tourist to this island cannot call his visit complete if he does not pay a visit to some of them. Visitors to any of these Centres are normally treated with typical Sri Lankan courtesy and normal given an educative, guided tour on the various stages of tea manufacturing.

Day 07 - Beruwala| Galle | Beruwala
After breakfast in the hotel and leave for a day excursion in Galle. (Approximately 1 ½ hours’ drive one way)
Galle: Visit the Dutch Fort and the city of Galle, which is the south coast’s major city, whose oldest landmark is the massive 17th century Portuguese and Dutch Fort in which the central city is contained. Along the streets, you can see strong Dutch influences in the architecture, along with some old British residences and various mosques with Arabic touches. Galle the port of Galle, thought by some to be the Biblical city of Tar shish, splendidly illustrates the solidity of the Dutch presence in Sri Lanka. The 36-hectare (89 acre) Dutch Fort, built in 1663, has withstood the ravages of time. Its massive ramparts surround the promontory that forms the older part of Galle, and shelters within its wall’s sturdy Dutch houses, museums and churches. This area has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere that seems almost detached from the flow of history.
Thereafter, return to hotel. Evening Relax at the hotel.
