An Evening at Schoenbrunn - Palace Visit and Concert

General information

Destination
Vienna, Austria

Program details

Step back in time and find out what went on behind the doors of Schoenbrunn Palace with a tour through the apartments and palatial rooms that hold stories from where history was made. Complement the tour with an evening concert by the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra, playing in the beautifully ornate Orangery close to the Palace.

Admire the magnificent architecture and exquisite décor as you walk through the state rooms and apartments where Empress Maria Theresa and Emperor Franz Joseph I lived and breathed. With the help of your audioguide or guide, centuries of history will come to life before your eyes and you’ll discover how this palace, first intended as a palatial hunting lodge, became a focal point of court life. Groups of ten or more people will have the added privilege of a tour by one of the Palace’s guides, after hours.

After the tour, make your way to the elaborately restored Orangery located in the palace grounds where Mozart once played. Enjoy a concert where the Habsburgs also held extravagant festivities and banquets in one of two of the largest Baroque orangeries in the world. Swoon to the melodies of the orchestra, and delight in the ballet dancing and singing as you marvel at the lavish surroundings in a royal tradition being kept alive. You’ll be enchanted and seduced by the grandeur in an experience that immerses you into the height of the Habsburgs.
